Haiti stuff

This family just got home from seeing their kids! I think of them every time I wear this shirt. It is a shirt that they sold for a fundraiser. I love shirt fundraisers, b/c I always think of the person each time I wear their shirt!

THinking of you today Stephanie!

sorry the shirt is backwards …. dumb computer! It says FROM HAITI TO HOME – I love that!

Over lunch today Aaron and I were talking about our next trip to Haiti. I BOOKED TICKETS LAST NIGHT! Do you see that we can not stay away from our kids. As soon as we get home from one trip we are thinking about the next one! We were so graciously given two roundtrip tickets in the US – so from here to Miami is booked. I’ll book the rest of the way soon! This will be our first time to go see them together without a group with us. I’m super excited!

We were talking about how we hope this is the last time we go together until we go and pick them up. You know my date, right? My date that I pray and beg God for them to be home by ….. April 12, 2009 – Easter Sunday. What a joy that would be if they were home by then. I know very well that this could not happen, but also know very well that it could happen. Just as the angel said to Mary when she found out about Jesus … Nothing is impossible with God.

Here’s a video about the problems there now:

S’s mom has an interview on Thursday.  Pray for this.  I don’t know much about it, just know that it is happening.  A’s grandpa might be interviewed too if he can get down the mountain.  Pray for his safety.

  1. Jamie, Thank you! May I borrow the picture to put on our blog as a Texas “shirt sighting?” 🙂

How exciting that you have another trip planned already! When will you be going? We were hoping to send me back in January but our moving date changed to January 15 so it might have to be in February instead … I hate waiting that long (and I’m actually praying for a miracle so they would come HOME instead) …

Our birthparent interviews are October 16. Praying both of yours go through without a hitch! GOD bless!

  2. jamie–it’s good to hear things are moving in the haitian adoption system… i have a feeling interviews are good news! they probably have to happen in order for the adoption process to move forward!

praying for you guys and for your kiddies to be home asap!

  3. Jamie,
I know in adoption we are not “supposed to” have a date in mind. While we were waiting for Rebecca some people said that maybe she would be home for Mother’s Day – I said that would be nice, but my prayer was that she would be home for Father’s Day! Our plane landed in Detroit at 11:30pm the Saturday night before Father’s Day! Continuing to pray for you!

  4. how to fix the flipped pic thing:

go to the edit menu at the top of the photobooth window and there is an option to check for “autoflip new photos”. click that and it will turn them the right way when you take them.

i usually leave it off until i’m taking a pic of something with writing and then turn it on just for that one… because otherwise it drives me nuts to have things get flipped around from how they were on the preview on the screen.

  5. Tough video to watch……
