new laundry smiles …

I do all of our laundry. I don’t like to do it, but I also don’t mind doing it either. My friend Shawnah told me that the biggest change when adding more kids is more laundry! I believe it. I feel like I could wash little boys clothes every day and it would never end.

Tonight I smiled during laundry. I smiled lots. I examined every piece of clothing that I put in the washing machine. I wasn’t examining for spots to spray like I do all my boys clothes, but yet I was taking in all the new colors. You see today my great friend Alison brought me a box of clothes for our baby girl. These clothes are all 0-3 and 3-6 and will be great for for my sweet baby girl when I go visit and for the next few months. I loved the pinks and purples and yellows and greens. They were all so sweet and girly. I loved them all! I can’t wait to get to Haiti and put them on her and take a million pictures of her.

I have been getting together clothes for Amos and now I can get together clothes for baby girl now too. I sure did love seperating laundry tonight … darks, whites, pinks & purples, darks, whites, pinks & purples, whites …..

I’m loving doing laundry tonight.

  1. When all you do are boys clothes … I can imagine the smile. My hubs wants a girl so bad he would have done that laundry all himself! πŸ™‚ I bet it was a sweet time to be even sweeter when you hold those precious babies in your arms, look into their eyes and you guys meet in person. Oh I can’t wait to see pictures!

  2. I totally get that- well, not about the pinks, but just laundry in general. There’s nothing like doing baby laundry. When Cy came back, I was so thankful to be washing his baby clothes. All the tiny little things. And even now, I don’t love laundry (let’s not get carried away), but it is a sweet chore. I get to see my little boys’ things, hold them, fold them… something I won’t get to do forever. The signs of life are in those clothes- stains, sweat, spit up. Signs of life.

  3. this post made me smile πŸ™‚

  4. I cannot wait to see Margda in her sweet new clothing! I have plenty more for when she is older…I already got rid of my younger things…Oh I just cannot wait. But I do want to know how you feel about laundry in 2 years. When they change clothes 4 times in one day because a drop of water got on the shirt and then they just wanted to play dress up πŸ˜‰ Just kidding…I wouldn’t trade it for anything but I agree, laundry is the biggest change!!!!!

  5. Yeah! I am so excited about having a little girl in the house! Boys are great …but the girls clothes are so much cuter and fun! Looking forward to seeing you soon. Have you thanked HIM today. He is so good!

Little girl clothes are the best!!!!! πŸ™‚ So excited for y’all!!!!

  8. Jamie, Did you wash the clothes in Dreft? I used to wash my boys’ clothes in that stuff and then I’d have to wash them again because I’d get makeup all over them from lifting the clothes up to my face and inhaling. Deeply. Sigh. I miss Dreft. Now the clothes just smell like Stink Boy and Wet Dog.
